Our Gender Reveal Party
July 10, 2019
Hi babes! So excited to share one of my favorite days, our Gender Reveal Party! Also, if you haven't heard...it's a BOY! Woo Hoo!
I first off want to give a HUGE thank you to all of the vendors that helped put it together. We had desserts and drinks! :)
Shop Celebrated- These ladies are AWESOME! They put together our balloon arch, our welcome entrance sign, our donut wall and sign, the balloon we popped and all of the OH BABY! plates, cups and napkins. They are so talented.
Sadie Baby Sweets- Rachel was so sweet to provide her DELICIOUS chocolate chip cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, mini banana pudding cups and caramel wrapped pretzels. The banana pudding cups were to die for!
Mrs. Goodmans Baking Co.- They made our amazing cake! They are so so sweet and located in Columbus. It was the prettiest marble cake of my dreams!! Totally nailed it.
Drink Boozie- This is owned by my good friend Kasey of @sbkliving! It is vodka soda in a can! They are first of all, so cute. They have no gluten, are 100-140 calories per can with only 2g of sugar. I cannot wait to have one in November! :)
Duck Donuts- If you haven't had Duck Donuts, you are truly missing out! They were such a hit, I'm obsessed with the blueberry! They make their donuts fresh when you order and they are so yummy!
Platform Beer Co.- Located in Columbus, they were super sweet to donate their Under the Sun white tea IPA beer & their Mi Mosa sparkling mimosa inspired ale. Both sound so good!
My outfit- Romper is: Lulus c/o, wedges: Marc Fisher c/o
We had such a good time! Justin and I had actually already knew and found out almost 2 months before. We are good secret keepers! I wanted to wait but he wanted to find out before we announced to everyone else. Now we just need to pick a name.... ;)
Thank you so much to everyone again who made this wonderful day happen including all of our family and friends! We love you!

You only need to know two words when thinking about buying pre-owned luxury: STORE 5a. What is STORE 5a you ask? Let me tell ya. Directed by Jesse Johnson, STORE 5a is known for not only providing pre-owned luxury items but providing an experience. They provide an easy and simple way for their customers to buy and sell luxury items while giving them an amazing experience.
A clean, chic environment with super helpful staff, STORE 5a has became so popular they have two locations- one in the Short North and one at Easton Town Center. The latest Chanel boy bags, Hermes scarves, Rolex watches, Cartier love rings, these are just a few mentionable items STORE 5a carries currently.
I personally flock to their handbags first. There are only a few things I will truly invest in and one of them is handbags. This pre-owned Chanel tote grabbed my attention the second I walked in the store. From brands like Gucci to Louis Vuitton to Prada, they have something for everyone.
They also have AMAZING jewelry! This John Hardy cuff is a piece you won't see anywhere else. And what about this David Yurman buckle bracelet? Talk about the perfect everyday piece. It's hard to stand out these days but buying pre-owned pieces that no one else owns is the way to go.
STORE 5a, like I said, is located in the Short North. If you have never been to Columbus Ohio, let me let you in on a little secret. One of our top gems is called the Short North Arts District. The Short North is our trendy, culture-rich area centered on North High Street. Known as the heart and soul of Columbus the Short North is the perfect place for visitors to attend fun events, shop streetwear, enjoy vibrant cocktails and of course, check out the amazing art and nightlife.
To give you a few highlights, let's start with one thing that will bring anyone to the Short North no matter what your interests are.....food and drinks! Here is a short list of some of my favorites that anyone could find something at. ** These are not all of the restaurants **
Coffee- One Line Coffee - such a cute quaint spot with WiFi perfect for work or meeting a friend for a cappuccino, Mission Coffee Co.
Breakfast & Brunch- Hubbard Grille (pictured above), Forno- O M G Forno is my favorite!! Their french toast and egg sandwich are to die for. Plus they have $4 mimosas and they are YUMMY. Bodega, Northstar (amazing granola and breakfast sandwich as well), Zest (smoothie bowls, toast and juices), The Lox Bagel Shop (just opened recently and their bagels are amazing!
Lunch/ Dinner- Native (as pictured above) great açaà bowls!, Brassica, Condados (tacos and yummy queso), Mikey's Late Night Slice, Local Cantina, Marcella's (Italian), Union, Black Point
Local wine, beer, and spirits- Short North Brewdog, North High Brewing, Seventh Son Brewing Co.
Whether you are walking your dog, enjoying the weather or grabbing a bite to eat with one of your girlfriends, this is the perfect time for you to pop into STORE 5a.
I recently went on a little shopping trip there and tried on some of my favorite pieces. This Chanel curblink belt I'm wearing here is a KNOCKOUT. These fun black onyx earrings were the perfect item to pair with it!
The pieces they offer are pre-owned but are in pristine condition. I just purchased Tom Ford sunglasses and they look brand new but I got them for a discounted price, win-win!
Other Shopping spots: Anthropologie, Rowe Boutique, FOUNT, Homage, Jolie, VAMP
One of the biggest events the Short North offers is called the Gallery Hop. It takes places on the first Saturday of every month! This is one of Columbus' legendary traditions. They have new gallery exhibits', food, drinks, street performers, etc. It is Columbus' favorite night of the month to celebrate art. Such a good time to have date night or hang with friends as a lot of the bars and stores stay open later!
I am so grateful that STORE 5a let me come in and pick out a few items to style for this shoot! No matter what I'm doing down in the Short North I always make time to pop in to see their new arrivals every week. Jesse Johnson, director of STORE 5a says, "Every piece has a story. What will yours be?" Go in there and find out! I can't wait to hear! ** You can get $25 off your first purchase with code NICOLE25. **
Thank you so much to STORE 5a for sponsoring today's post!

Pants: Chicwish c/o
Sandals: Leander Boutique c/o, use code NICOLE15 for a discount!
Bag: Gucci
Ohio gets a bad rap for being cold and rainy a lot. What most people don't realize is that there are tons of cute indoor locations to hang out, take pictures, work at, etc. One of them I like a lot is NORTH MARKET. Located in the Short North they not only have tons of delicious food but it's a perfect place to meet a friend for coffee or take pictures. This is where I shot this outfit above from Chicwish!
I love this V-Neck shirt in pink! I'm a jeans girl so normally that's what I would pair it with but I also got these fun pants from Chicwish! I think it's so cute they only have pleats on one side and they are called "Mood Swings Wide Leg Pants." How perfect.
I have a "want" list from Chicwish right now and I linked a few of my favorites below! I love how they always have sales going on. Here are some more of my favorite inside locations in Columbus!
BREKKIE SHACK
NATIVE
STORE 5a
THE COLUMBUS ATHENAEUM
WINAN'S COLUMBUS
ZEST
GROCERY STORES- COSTCO (above), WHOLE FOODS (ex. here), ETC.
FOX IN THE SNOW (above)
I have lived in Columbus for over 10 years and have been blogging for almost 4 years. I shoot photos once a week so I am pretty educated in what locations are the cutest when it is rainy outside. All of these have different quirks to them but I wanted to share some of my faves. Obviously I love all of the above but others that are awesome too include:
- FLOWERS AND BREAD (ex. here)
- JUNIPER (ex. here)
- LINCOLN SOCIAL
- HILTON DOWNTOWN (ex. here)
- COLUMBUS STATE LIBRARY (ex. here)
- ELEVATORS
- PARKING GARAGES (ex. here)
- ROOFTOPS (ex. here)
Thank you so much to Chicwish for sponsoring today's post!
