** EDITED AFTER HAVING EASTON! **
A much requested blog post is here! As a first time mama I want to be prepared so even though I'm not due for 7 more weeks I rounded up what I am packing in my hospital bag! I hope this hopefully helps you too! :) Check the bottom of the post for a super fun giveaway! Also- I wanted to tell you babes, I am going to update this post after I have him & tell you the items I really needed/maybe could have left home!
FOR BABY:
- Pacifier
- Outfit we are "announcing" him in
- 2 Swaddle blankets
- Boppy this isn't a necessity, you can just use a pillow!
- Socks
- Wipes the hospital provided these!
- Going home outfit
- Sleepsack (the one pictured above is in the color Dusty Sage but is sold out at the moment)
- Cord blood kit
* We didn't stay long at the hospital so we didn't need all the clothes I brought him!
Thinking about:
- Baby book (for his footprints) I was so out of it when they were stamping his footprints on a separate sheet of paper, I completely forgot about his book
- Baby mittens (in case he scratches himself) We didn't use these
FOR MAMA (ME):
- Belabumbum Lounge Chic PJ & Robe Set This was literally amazing, a godsend!
- Long phone charger A MUST HAVE
- Comfy slippers (I have these in 2 colors)
- Non-slip fuzzy socks I just wore the ones the hospital gave me!
- Going home comfy outfit: cardigan, tank, joggers
- Robe- loveee the leopard! Not bringing my nice one because I'm not sure how bad the blood situation will be
- Pillow loved having my own pillow!
- Blanket
- Nursing bra (this looks super comfy to me!)
- Nursing pads My milk hadn't come in yet so these weren't necessary!
- Breast pump (still debating on which one to get!) You absolutely do not need one at the hospital
- Always Discreet Underwear & or Thin pads/pantyliners These were amazing for postpartum at home but not needed at the hospital
- Flip flops (for the shower, also love these & they are under $10!)
- Towel ( I heard the hospital towels are super hard) I didn't even shower at the hospital because 1- we weren't there long and 2- I was in so much pain I could barely walk much less shower
- Toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, makeup removing wipes, chapstick, deodorant, face wash, moisturizer, contacts, dry shampoo, travel size shampoo & conditioner, lotion, body wash, makeup
- Mints
- Prenatal Vitamins
Thinking about:
- Dermoplast (in case the hospital doesn't provide it) they provided this
- Mini fan a MUST HAVE, I used it during labor, after labor, in the middle of the night!
- Magazine no lol, I didn't have time to read a magazine. Any free time I had was spent sleeping!
- Waterbottle They provided this!
FOR HUSBAND/SIGNIFICANT OTHER:
- Change of clothes
- Toiletries: toothbrush, deodorant
- Portable Bluetooth Speaker This was amazing for when we played my playlist during labor
- Book
MISC.:
- Camera We just used our phones!
- Health insurance cards
- Cash/ credit cards
- Snacks (ex. trail mix, granola bars, fruit, animal crackers)
- File folder for paperwork
- Photo IDs

Easy, Healthy dinner with EveryPlate
September 25, 2019
One thing Justin and I always fight about- what are we going to eat for dinner. We want to eat healthy but a lot of times wait until the last minute so we end up eating bad! We have recently been introduced to EveryPlate and let me just tell you, it's amazing. Not only was it actually fun to cook together but it was so easy to make!
EveryPlate's dinner are the cheap and healthier alternative to our usual takeout. While a lot of dinner options cost around $10 a plate, EveryPlate is offering 5 recipes a week at only $4.99/serving. Not only does it come straight to your door but they literally measure out all the ingredients so you have everything right in front of you. It's super convenient.
I am so excited because EveryPlate was kind enough to provide me with a discount code for you guys! With the code HEARTISNOW30 you can get 18 meals for just $3.33 each! Think of it this way, one meal is the same price as one cup of coffee. You can either click this link and the discount will be automatically applied or manually enter it.
Thank you so much to EveryPlate for sponsoring today's post!
